I work for a charity or NFP organisation

• We are not a registered charity but are a not-for-profit community group. Can we still raise money through Online Giving?

  Yes!  To meet our requirements of being an Online Giving charity partner, your organisation needs to be registered within Australia and be not-for-profit.  This includes many community, sporting, religious and social groups within Australia.  You do not need Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status to partner with Online Giving, although if you do have DGR status we will ensure your donors are aware of this at the time of donating so that they may claim a tax deduction for their donation.

• How do we register with Online Giving?

  Registering with Online Giving is free, quick and a once-off process.  Simply click on the tab “Charity registration” at the top of this page and follow the prompts.  You can either register online (this is the fastest way to register) or fax in your registration and supporting documents.
  

• What is the process for ensuring all funds get to my charity?

  Online Giving is committed to the timely transfer of donations, so the money can get to where it’s needed most as quickly as possible.  On a monthly basis we transfer all donations net of fees into the nominated charity’s bank account and email a detailed report of donation amounts for that month and current fundraising pages for their charity.  
  
  Charities can also access their donation information at any time through their password protected Online Giving account.  After logging in via the Online Giving home page you can download donation history to reconcile donations made via Online Giving with funds received.   
  
  In line with our commitment to professional and ethical fundraising, our processes are independently audited by Aintree Group Accountants.
  
  

• What fees are associated with using Online Giving?

  In line with our mission, we are the lowest cost provider of personalised fundraising pages in Australia.  Online Giving deducts a small administration fee of 5% of online donations and passes on the bank's credit card processing fees, which are currently 0.9% of online donations plus 46 cents per transaction (these are subject to change as determined by the credit card companies).  Subscription fees may also apply to charity partners; no subscription fees currently apply.  By using Online Giving, your organisation does not need to worry about the administrative tasks and costs associated with traditional fundraising, such as collecting cash and issuing receipts. This allows more money gets to where it's needed most – your end cause.

• Can we use Online Giving in any of our promotional material or link to our web site?

  Yes!  To do this, you must be registered with us as one of our charity partners.  Please feel free to contact us at busdev@onlinegiving.com.au if you would like a copy of our logo and some wording you can include on your web site or in a newsletter to your supporters or other promotional material.

• Is it safe to donate by credit card over the internet?

  Yes, it’s very safe.  For any web page within our site that collects sensitive information, like credit card details, we use a 128-bit SSL certificate to encrypt the data before it is transmitted over the internet from the donor’s computer to our server.  This Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate is provided by Thawte, the world’s leading provider of SSL certificates.

• How are we notified when people create a fundraising page for our charity?

  Your contact person will automatically receive an email each time someone creates a fundraising page to raise money on behalf of your charity (unless they checked the box not to receive these emails when registering with us).  This allows you to know who is raising money on your behalf and see their fundraising pages if you like.  All fundraisers agree to our Terms of Use, which specify that Online Giving and our charity partners reserve the right to cancel or suspend, at their discretion and without notice, any page or content that may conflict with Online Giving or our charity partners’ values and principles or that may be considered offensive.

• Can we access the contact details of donors to our charity?

  At Online Giving, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our fundraisers, donors and charity partners.  We will pass on donors' contact details so you can let them know about future campaigns or events if they checked the box on our web site allowing us to do this.  
  

• I can’t remember my organisation’s username or password to log in. What should I do?

  Your organisation’s username is the email address of the person who registered your organisation with us.  If the key contact’s email address has changed since registering with us, simply log in with the email address your organisation registered with, and then update your organisation’s details with the most relevant email address.  The updated email address will become your organisation’s new username.  
  
  If you have forgotten your password, simply go to the home page and click on “Forgot your password” in the top right corner and follow the prompts so we can immediately email you your password.
